"People wondering where the heck you been. Every time I
come to the blog not a thing is new" exclaimed my cousin Jatu. Guilt struck in
for I know that my little break into LaLa Land has gone on for far too long.
Now I could use the timeless excuse that "I've been soo busy" but
that would be a lie. Truth is life has gotten the best of me. I'm human just
like you and sometimes when your world gets clouded I advise everyone to step
back from it all and make yourself a priority. Now is a great time to fill you
in on my life lately....
I hit another milestone in my career.I spent weeks assisting
with the very event that lured me to this cube I now reside in. A year ago I
was an attendee and now I'm on the team.
I took another trip home and while the reason for going was
upsetting it was great to see my loved ones. Crazy as it sounds even in a room
full of people I known for years I still felt alone. With everyone embarking on
their own adult lives home doesn't feel like home anymore. For the longest time
I was so adamant about moving back to very place that held my heart. As life
changes I've made the decision that I'm never moving back. -first time I've
actually let this escape my thoughts-
4th of July my favorite holiday of all time! Not because of the history of America but because it's my daddy's birthday. This is actually the second time I've spent away from him on this day. If my cousin hadn't came to visit I would of more than likely stayed on the couch. Seeing as I was playing hostess with the mostess I enjoyed a eventful holiday weekend. From frolicking on rooftops in Brooklyn as the fireworks colored the sky to partying the night away and then kayaking on the Hudson made it an unforgettable weekend.
I find myself being asked about my love life a lot these
days, but I can't blame anyone since I did go public with it. Some days I
regret making that posts because I'm such a private person and others I applaud
myself for taking that leap. To answer everyone's questions Yog and I are no
longer dating. While things didn't end in a fairytale I appreciate our
experience for what it was worth and the things he introduced me to. I bet yall
would love to know about our dramatic encounter at a rooftop party but I'll
save that for my book in 2020. Word to the Wise always read the fine print...
P.S. I promise to never leave ya lonely again.
