Reality Check

June 1, 2014

6 months into 2014 and 6 months away from 2015
Halfway through the year is always a great time for a good ole reality check...
I came into 2014 secretly distraught and filled with confusion about the sudden turn life made. While life got the best of me I didn't make a vision board nor did I make any attempts to write down my new year resolutions. Our generation including myself has a tendency to fantasize without any action. We write out these goals with fancy verbiage and by the 3rd month of the year they are forgotten. While I regret I didn't take time out to jot down some goals for this year I can truly say that I can look back on these 6 months and say that I am headed on the right path.

So below are three things that I have happened so far and 3 three I want to look forward to accomplishing before the year end.

Career Related Strides

LSO Launch:
Once again while this is just a small piece of my big goal, but launching this site with Jaz kept me from wallowing in sorrow. To see what once once a vision become a reality fed more hunger to conquer the rest of my goals.

PRista: I worked my first red carpet for OWN Network Series Love thy Neighbor, I oversaw a major event from start to finish, and was able to handle a Happy Hour outlet all by my lonesome. Now none of this means anything to those not in PR, but once again to me it means a heck of a lot. In 2013 I was working as an admissions rep and fast forward to now I am in my field at an international company handling projects on my own so I will list this as a accomplishment!

Personal Growth

Strength:
Some way somehow I was able to find another layer of inner strength that I didn't know I harbored. Strength to work under extreme pressure. Strength to have tunnel vision on reality and not let my emotions run wild. Most of strength to not harbor any hate, resentment, or ill feelings toward anyone. Strength to relish in faith is what got me through the first 6 months of the year and will continue from here on out.

L-O-V-E:
By far was the most unexpected pleasant distraction I have ever received in my life. lol Since we're all getting to know me I am not one  to get caught up in the rapture of LOVE in fact later this week we shall a have a looksie at my history with the thing. Anyway I can say that while I'm not in love a certain someone has restored my faith in L-O-V-E. Has shown me that REAL MEN still exist.
