I'm Ready For Something New!!~ Work Woes~Jaz's Diary Vo.3

"All the people of the the planet working a 9-5 just to stay alive"

Lord knows I'm thankful to have a job. Living in today's economy people are getting laid off left and right so, please believe my job is a blessing. Plus I get to work with special needs children, which is very gratifying. However I am on a pursuit of happiness and since this job isn't my dream job or my passion sometimes I get in a funk. Not to mention some people that I work with can really get on my nerves. All in all I like them, some more than others, but that's life.

You can hide a lot behind a smile

But, this week has just been emotionally and mentally draining. For example, I have this co-worker who is extremely negative, I mean they never see the good in anything. Not to mention she's a know it all smh. Well, I'm at work working with a client when she tells me my data is wrong and it should be done "this way". Now for the most part I don't let her get to me, but this week I was on a short fuse not to mention she gave her two cents in front of my supervisor. Now I didn't want to get all "sista girl" in front of the man but it did piss me off.

First of all I can't stand a know it all, I never could. I mean please, away with you. And more importantly I can't stand someone who's unprofessional. Don't call yourself confronting me in front of my boss. Especially when your wrong, but I'm proud that I kept it cool.

When I get to feeling helpless and extremely, annoyed I pray. My God works all things out, in the end a petty little co/worker won't be able to ruin my day. I started off with prayer and I remembered that situations like this are petty. I talk to my friends about "work woes" all the time. We spend 8 plus hours at work, sometimes we see our co/workers more than our own families and friends. Work woes can really affect us,  and make petty situations seem bigger than what they really are.

So I urge you to follow these steps when work woes are trying to get the best of you:
1) Pray- we are more than conquerors Romans 8:28-39 (my favorite scripture)
2) Reevaluate-was the situation really that big of a deal
3)Try to find the humor in it
4) Unwind during your break-vent to a friend and listen to music to let your mind get away
5) Kill them with KINDNESS!!! As long as you are doing your job well, don't worry about the nay sayers

Jaz's Tip- keep your eye on the prize. I know I will be living my dreams as long as I keep grinding, and the same can happen for you! So let's get it together~XOXO Jaz
