PRista Prep: Reschedule or NAH!

So you've been applying to jobs like crazy and one day you open up that email or get that call telling you that they want you to come in for an interview. Just so happens the interview time conflicts with your current job. Now you find yourself in a bind to reschedule or nah...




Survey says do not reschedule an interview by any means. If a company is interested in you then leverage that interest and make yourself available or guess what they will most certainly be on to the next. Yes you might complain on why they scheduled it in the middle of the day, but you have to remember that individuals apart of the hiring process have other projects and task to complete so they're time is limited. While some HR people allow you to reschedule your interview don't assume that they aren't holding it against you.

Lay It Down

I once had a phone interview in the middle of the day right before a huge meeting. So instead of rescheduling I disappeared into one of the conference rooms and laid in the corner and had a full fledged interview.

Apartment Flood

I called my boss and emailed my team letting them know I had a mini apartment flood and wouldn't be able to make it into work until I had the situation resolved. I mean whose going to ask for proof of a toilet flood. Oh yeah let me take a apartment as water surround my ankles so this is a fool proof excuse that can only be used once.

Call a doctor

Doctors excuses work in corporate america as well and they are many types of doctors choose one and you'll be off to an interview in no time

So just remember the next time you think about rescheduling an interview ask your yourself would you like it if someone rescheduled your pay day.
