I've grown to realize that there will never be a dull moment as long as I live here in New York. So check in to see how I spent my two days of freedom from the man...
Somehow in this world called adulthood I've become a workaholic. So when I was asked by members of the brand team to cover an event I immediately said yes. So Friday after convincing my sister to tag along the car service I arranged picked us up curb side and whisked us away to Jersey for the Kappa Alpha Psi Annual Boatride. Well this event I was the only representative from my company making me Top Dawg for the night. I conducted the POS walk through, had a short meeting with the event team, and a tasting with the bartenders.
Nights like this is what I worked so hard for. I know this means absolutely nothing to you, but I've been on this grind so long this is truly a night that I will never forget. As a female in this industry this night also made me realize the lack of respect males have women. As I was being introduced to different men on board after they chin checked me they didn't really give me any respect until my position was stated. Then after that they not only complimented me on my body but they event went as far as to ask me to take pictures like I was a promotional model. smh that's another post for a different day. All in all the 10 cases of product that I had shipped to the event was thoroughly enjoyed at the open bar.
Saturday
My body has no act right and I was up by 7am despite not getting in until 4am from the cruise. I had every intention on staying glued to my couch for the whole day, but those plans were cut short when my good friend Chris alerted me that he was in town from Austin. So I left my nest on the couch and escaped to Boozy Brunch at PS 450 for Teague's birthday. I actually had a great time, my socialite self met a ton of people -as you can see I even borrowed my new friends hat- and took the party from lower east side to a night cap uptown at Joe's..... crab shack ofcourseSunday
I rose before the sun did on this Sunday thanks to a massive sinus headache that kept me up. As I laid around my apartment I couldn't ignore all the commotion that seemed to be taking place right outside my humble abode. So me being nosy, I perched at the window and low and behold there was a block party almost right on my stoop. From rock climbing to eating from the taco truck I spent my Sunday right on the block no Jlo or Jadakiss.
Well there you have it folks my weekend in a nut shell. Hope you guys got out and off te couch because baby this youth is slowly fading y so enjoy it day by day.
